2003 PRO-RWD CIVIC

Built for Stephan Papadakis to drive in the NHRA Sport Compact Drag Racing series’ pro rear-wheel-drive class in 2003-2005, the vehicle achieved several top qualifiers and wins and its best-ever quarter-mile was a 6.52 @ 215 MPH. The Pro-RWD vehicle was built from the ground up to resemble the basic body shape of a Honda Civic. Papadakis partnered with veteran NHRA Pro Stock race car builder Don Ness for the tube-chassis and carbon-fiber body, and AEM founder John Concialdi for the engine — an Acura NSX stroked to 3.3 liters and twin turbocharged to make over 1600 horsepower on alcohol fuel. Engine: Acura NSX 3.3 liter twin turbocharged 1600 + horsepower // Transmission: Lenco 5 speed, clutchless shift.
