Shawn Hillier

Shop lead Shawn Hillier’s lifelong passion for cars and a long history in the automotive aftermarket has led him to develop an enviable all-around motorsport skill set. A former racing driver, he is an experienced fabricator and mechanic who has earned three championship titles with Papadakis Racing (2015, 2008, 2007).

Hillier started his motorsport career as a driver in the NHRA Sport Compact series where he achieved several wins in a Honda Civic drag car before he turned to mechanics full-time. He joined the Papadakis Racing drift program in 2007.

Along with Aldo Villagran, he is one half of the shop duo known on the racing circuit as “Shaldo.” The two are longtime colleagues with complimentary skillsets who have worked together since Hillier’s driving days some 15 years ago.

As part of a small core team, Hillier has had the opportunity to explore all aspects of motorsport, from fabrication and assembly to prototype design. He is the lead technician and car chief on the No. 151 car driven in Formula Drift by Fredric Aasbo and has been an essential player in seven of the team’s cutting-edge vehicle builds.
